Snow Day!

Believe it not, the first time I touched snow was just 1 month ago. Being south of the equator means our coldest months down here are June and July.

Now when I say touched snow, it snowed at the house, but not much. Maybe a couple inches. But every bit counts, I touched it, rolled it up into a ball, victimized the neighbor kids, a grand time for all.

But I kept the pressure on Pops to take me to the snow, the real stuff, sledding, skiing, the whole shabang. He promised and I charged him accordingly.

We headed up with some classmates to Farellones. Roughly 1.5 hours from the house, it got dumped on the week prior and was awash with the white stuff.

The sun eventually made its way out and we were set.

Only down-side was we chose the Sunday that the World Cup Final was played. But Farellones came prepared with a giant big screen on the slopes for us to take in what was probably the best final game ever played. Enjoy some pics of the day …

The day was spectacular and I definitely caught the snow bug. More to come for sure and needless to say by the end of the day your humble scribe was MUERTO!

Tell your dad you want to see the Rockies in Colorado in January, February or March. Now that’s real snow!! And that’s where your dad learned to ski!

Michael–what a fun day you had in the mountains with so much snow! Did you ski, sled, snowboard??? Roll down the hills in it? Loved your last pic–two tired puppies!

    • Hey Aunt Julie, just sledding for the first time out. Lots of rolling about, slow in my hair, butt and who knows where else. Skiing will come though, with time … Love, Michael
